The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, July 8 2019

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update and recap forMonday, July 8, tease that Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) will show up to grill Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) in her suite. She’ll talk about going to sleep and waking up to find Calvin Boudreau (John Burke) dead. Chelsea will accept Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) offer to stay at his place – much to Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) dismay.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will give Adam some useful advice. She’ll think Adam should back off and give Chelsea a little breathing room, but he’ll refuse to listen. At Nick’s house, Chelsea will still be shocked that Calvin’s really gone. Nick will mention Neil Winters’ (Kristoff St. John) similar situation, so Chelsea will get choked up. It’ll be the first time she’s heard about Neil’s death.

Nick will console Chelsea as she mourns Calvin, but Adam will barge in soon enough. He’ll insist on speaking with Chelsea alone, so Nick will relent once Chelsea approves. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will believe they’ve been given a gift. He’ll think Calvin’s death means there are no more roadblocks to their reunion.

Of course, Chelsea will snap that Calvin’s demise is far from a gift. She’ll feel like Adam’s being insensitive. Chelsea will even suggest that Adam’s a backstabber due to his earlier conversation with Calvin. Adam will promise he didn’t deliver any threats. He’ll just want to get back what he’s lost, but Chelsea will insist she’s not the same woman anymore. She’ll want to be free from Adam instead.

Later, Chelsea will fret about how Calvin’s death will affect Adam’s legal claim to Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois). She’ll tell Nick her fears and realize she has to tell Connor the truth. Nick will want to go with Chelsea and help her through this. Afterward, Nick will leave the room to get some food for Chelsea and return to find she’s fallen asleep.

Other Y&R spoilers say Phyllis and Paul will run into each other at the park. Phyllis will mention that Chelsea was the one who attacked Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) at Crimson Lights. Paul will wonder why Phyllis is just now bringing it up, but she’ll point out that there was no need since Chelsea wasn’t around.

Next, Paul will want to know more about Phyllis’ alleged vacation. He’ll want the true story and try to figure out why Phyllis seems so chummy with Adam. She’ll contend that they just have some common interests these days.

Phyllis will think Paul would be better off concentrating on Calvin’s death, but he’ll note that there were no signs of foul play. Naturally, Phyllis will have her doubts.

At Dark Horse, Adam will gripe to Phyllis about Nick making his move with Chelsea. He’ll feel like his brother’s using Calvin’s demise to his advantage. Phyllis will suggest the pot’s calling the kettle black. She’ll also remind Adam of how quickly Chelsea moved on with Nick after Adam “died.” Phyllis will bring up Chelsea’s shady past and warn that she’s just going to bring disappointment.

However, Adam won’t be convinced to let Chelsea go. He won’t care who he has to destroy to get his family back. At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, Ana Hamilton (Loren Lott) will seek a favor from Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). She still won’t be thrilled about Devon hiring Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) to babysit her, so she’ll suggest Nate could offer a different point of view to Devon.

Nate will think Ana should let this play out first and see what happens. He’ll add that Ana should start focusing on her persona life more as well. At the coffeehouse, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will fish for details on Theo’s night with Ana. He’ll explain that he’s working with Ana now, so Summer will be relieved. She’ll apologize for ranting about Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and promise she’s done.

Theo will want to keep doing what they’re doing, so they’ll patch things up. Soon after, Ana will arrive and hear about Theo’s crossover plans for Jett Slade (Gilbert Glenn Brown). Once Ana shuts them down, Theo will get the feeling that she’s still got a problem with their working arrangement. She’ll insist she’s accepted Devon’s decision and hope they can talk through any issues that arise.

Later, Theo will gush about how he’s never met anyone like Summer. He’ll think Summer would be the perfect Jabot Collective influencer and could build her brand with his help. Summer will head back to Kyle’s suite with him, so they’ll have some fun by hooking up.

Finally, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nate will give Elena some comfort. He’ll realize the situation with Calvin probably brought up memories of her mom’s sudden death. Nate will just want Elena to know they’re all in her corner, so she’ll appreciate the support.
